They're my OCs. They're kinda always in the back of my head helping me work stuff out, so it just seemed natural to put them there. It's like roleplay I guess... If you have something to say about an entry, or just something you wanna tell me, you can do it by e-mail.
A lot. Thanks for asking!

MOST RECENT ENTRYGripes About Streaming & A Business Idea [27 Dec. 2025] [Obie's Two Cents]My family has gone for a long time without paid streaming services, just because we never really felt the need for them... if we needed to watch something, we would use free services (still ew because I'm allergic to ads) or take a trip to pirate island, but now for some reason we've started having live football on in the house, which obviously needs to be streamed (phrased like that because I REFUSE to get into football. I dunno, it just feels like not knowing anything about football is a defining character trait for me... I plan on holding fast. Anyway...) But Back To Streaming:I hate how these services are a monopoly, so they don't need to win customer satisfaction. Everyone I know who pays for streaming complains about it, be it the excessive ads, the pricing, or the glitchy or downright bad UX/UI. The reasons they say they HAVE these services are similar to my parents. It's usually to keep up with one or two shows or sports events. It sucks if you're planning on watching something and the IP is owned by another streaming company and you have to start a one month trial of Battat or Pluey in order to watch some random show your friend has been raving about.
A Business PropositionOkay. I really want to bring back video rental stores like Blockbuster, but I would also rent out projectors, DVD players, and other equipment, just in case people don't want to commit to buying anything. It could be like testing the waters. We could even have watch parties and make it community focused if we want. If anything, people would opt in for the nostalgia. I actually think I could pull it off if I did a good enough social campaign. I'd have to gauge interest. I know quite a few people who would peruse the heck out of my wares, but I think my sample is biased cause I've surrounded myself with cool and based people. I just have to spread DVD propaganda into the world >:] ![]() We'd rent out one of these for all those nostalgia lovers. ![]() Snacks! Food! Yum. ![]() There'd be a section for indie films where the crew gets a cut of the money from rentals! Another banger from Angry Old Man. O.D. |

Merry Christmas and Happy Harping! (Loving My New Hohner Blues Harp) [Interests]
Merry Christmas and Happy Harping! (Loving My New Hohner Blues Harp) [27 Dec. 2025]
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you had a good one, and if you don't celebrate, I hope you had a good month too! ![]() 1: HOHNER BLUES HARP!!! ![]() 2: Takanaka Album!!! ![]() 3: Some LEGO GEARS for making MECHANISMS!!! I started playing harmonica on a knockoff something or other, and I thought I just sucked at mouth control, but it turned out it was (mostly) the instrument that sucked! I never had the motivation to play the harp because I just couldn't "get it" but now the fancy maneuvers like bending are so much easier! (and I can actually play high notes without straining!) Currently learning to play some American folk songs like The Lost Highway, O Suzanna, Duelling Banjos, and Amazing Grace, and some Slavic folk songs like Barinya and Kalinka. The Slav songs require some improv because my harmonica is in C major, and there are some darker notes that I can't hit without precise bending, but I'm working it out! I also want to learn little riffs and cool techniques, like the train riff that mimics a steam train, I always thought that was cool. And sliding up and down the scale to meet different notes. And of course I gotta master the intro to Billy Joel's Piano Man, because people always wanna hear that one lol. It's like THE harmonica riff.

Denny Puppet Update 5 (feat. tiny puppy plushy) [23 Dec. 2025]Still putting off the rest of the sewing cause it's scairy, but I got some other stuff done! I stained the Balalaika, and made a short little animation with him! The lighting, camera quality, and staging sucks, but that's cause the only thing I was really focusing on was the animation... which I think came out pretty good for my first time stop-motion animating in 7ish years lol. ![]() Posin'! ![]() Singin' his heart out! ![]() with ouppy ![]() with ouppy part 2 Sick 10 second animation and then 2.5 minutes of pseudo folk music. The Russian band that plays at the end screen is Moscow Nights. I found their CD at the CD shop for fifty cents. A steal, I'd say! Love me some good upbeat folk music. I saw a live polka band and it was the happiest I'd felt in a while! I was dancin' around like nobody's business, even did the chicken dance lol. For the Balalaika I think I'm going to paint it with apple blossoms because they look pretty, but it's also kind of important to the lore lol (it came to me in a dream) (maybe I'll write a little fic about why that is, I've been thinking about it all week)

Denny Puppet Update 4 [Interests]
Denny Puppet Update 4 [23 Dec. 2025]He's got his instrument! (Or at least the bare bones of it.) Really didn't feel like doing any sewing today, so I worked on other stuff. I colored his hands to match his face, and added a little brown to his hair to make it a little bit more nuanced than just JET BLACK. I also added washers to the bottom of his feet so he can stand up a lot easier using magnets hidden in the floor. In the pics I've got him on the lid of a tin, but that's just temporary to test out the idea. The balalaika I made out of balsa wood. Kinda a bad choice of material, but it's what I had lol. ![]() I like this picture, he looks like a grateful little mouse lol. I was testing out neck up/down movement and decided to snap a pic. ![]() And here he is just chillin'. With his balalaika. (What a fun word to say, by the way... Ba-la-lai-ka. Good stuff.) "Cute cute. I am getting way too into this project lol."

I'm thinking about doing an educational series of blogs about the alt web, old tech, and escaping the algorithm! [30 Nov. 2025]
It's daunting, isn't it?
I want to make breaking out of the algorithm more accessible to everyone, so I'm planning on writing out some things that have worked for me, and organizing them in a way that makes it less overwhelming.

I'm not very good at narrative writing but I'd rather write out my own ideas than have AI do it. [Obie's Two Cents]
I'm not very good at narrative writing but I'd rather write out my own ideas than have AI do it. [23 Jul. 2025]]
As the old folks say "It builds character."But yeah. I don't really understand how people enjoy using AI for creative tasks. I'll admit that I do suck at writing, but I can always get better. That's what I did with art. Doing it yourself builds sureness and confidence, as well as teaches you new ways to think. I'm very good at visualizing in a 3D space for things like planning out a room or planning a parkour stunt because I use perspective every day in my art.
But it's not just that; It's the joy of the process. I love looking back at my really old Undertale fanart (no, you cannot see it.) and seeing just how much I've progressed. The struggle is what makes it fun, makes you learn new things! If I just used AI to write this story of mine, first of all, there would be no personal touch, and second of all, I wouldn't learn how to be a better writer by making and learning from mistakes. It's like a hike. Half the fun is getting there. If you just got teleported to the top of a mountain, you wouldn't appreciate the view as much. Maybe showing off bad art or writing is embarrassing for some... I know it is for me. But I'd rather see a less than perfect drawing that someone put their heart and soul into than a polished (at least at first glance) PNG made by a computer. If you showed me an AI image, and said "I made this!" I would pity you. Some people just don't understand the inherent joy of creating something with your own two hands, and that makes me sad, because to some, it is the most amazing thing in the world. That's all I got today. I'm just coding a website for a multimedia project I'm working on and really struggling with how to get the characterization of the characters right. But I'm persevering, because I've always wanted to be able to write narratives. Here's the slop if you wanna watch me faceplant into the mud over and over again in real time. Fair warning, it's super unfinished, but I'm working on it! Also, it might not be very coherent because it's part of a larger story that's unwritten. We're in the early planning stages!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink (Puppets and UI plans) [Interests]
Everything But The Kitchen Sink (Puppets and UI plans) [23 Jul. 2025]Alright, we're back, life's been good the past few days. But I'm STILL MAKING STUFF!So what am I up to?![]() Evil dictator hand puppet ![]() Divorced man stop motion puppet I've had the idea of puppets for these two in my head for a long time, but this is the first time I actually planned them out with materials and all. I'm planning out how I want to portray my story, The Dog, in video, and it's gonna be animated, but I wanted a break from 2D, both because it's difficult, but also because I have to learn new skills or I'll explode, but also because it will be sick as hell and add so much charm if I do mixed media. 🍫It started with Adrik's puppet, mostly because his character really likes puppets and toys (totally not a reference to any certain doctor). There's going to be a short segment with his puppet (uh guys, I'm just taking really heavy inspo, ok?) where he shows off public art, both from followers of my stuff, and people I know IRL. 💌But then I decided that Adrik's brother, Deno, should have a segment of his own, since they kinda become rivals over the course of the story and they so WOULD try to 1-up each other like that. Denny's segment will be stop motion because I always wanted a Rankin Bass style puppet. I like 'em a normal amount, promise. So I decided to make a puppet out of my doomed lover boy, Deno. ![]() mY sTuFf!!!1! ![]() all the cool kids have THREE dimensions. 💊Now this chicken scratch is a UI sketch for a separate game I'm making that follows two kids in a 90's edu-tainment themed adventure where they are pitted against the shadow government, zombie drugs, and other really sick shit. Fun. It's going to be point and click style, and this asset, along with many others is going to be crudely modelled in 3D for the shiny 90's old web feel. Most of this is illegible, but maybe you get the point. The basic unedited 3D model has been made! (now to shade, overlay, and photobash in Krita) And yes, that is CDI Link in the "My Stuff!" section. The YTP vocal stims have become a part of me, unfortunately. ![]() DINNER.

Random rant about Google Classroom type sites [Obie's Two Cents]
Random rant about Google Classroom type sites [23 Jul. 2025]
Synopsis: Old Man Yells At Technology. It might just be another crazy opinion from this strange luddite, but I really don't like sites like Canvas, Google Classroom, and the like. I don't like how web based school is for many reasons, but theses sites are one of my main gripes."due at 11:59pm"First of all, my pet peeve is classes having stuff due at 11:59 pm. I think it should be due by the time class starts. If I want to pull the academic equivalent of a Houdini trick (finishing a paper 5 minutes before class, printing it 3 minutes before, and handing it to the professor, still warm) I should be able to. I've done it before, it's thrilling! And it's more fulfilling than pressing submit in your room alone at 11:58 and getting stupid confetti on the screen.![]() Me when I finally finish that essay mere minutes before it's due (I'm the Canvas confetti's biggest hater) Another random thought: it feels like school is never turned off. You're always at school, because the site is just a click away. Just like work e-mails that expect you to respond promptly at weird hours... Had an assignment for my Tuesday class that was due on some random Friday... what? Why? I don't know. Maybe the teacher just wanted to feel powerful... All Or Nothing! Please!I don't know if this is just user error on the teacher's end... this might just be a me problem, but not all of the assignments show when they're due on the homepage, so I end up missing stuff. I don't keep a planner for homework (even though I'm considering it now...) because the website's supposed to tell me when stuff's due! That's the point! But it seems like nobody, especially the teachers, knows how to use these sites, I've never used these sites from the educator's side, but from what I've heard, the user experience is atrocious. Teachers have to spend so much time fiddling with this technology, as do the students, and it takes time away from actually learning. It's really janky. I had a class where it was all on paper, and essays were to be printed out, and I felt like I learned more there, and stayed on top of the assignments much better than classes that are fully online. Screens, Screen time... Ouch.Who needs more screen time? It hurts your eyes, and it's distracting. Half of these things that are posted on these sites can be printed out or read on paper. I just like marking up paper better than marking up a screen, because it's less distracting, you can do it outside, it feels real, and it's a break from the computer. It feels a lot better to abruptly close a huge book than to close a tab, at least in my opinion.

Things I've been researching for my new interest, backpacking! (Special guest: exposure therapy!) [Interests]
Things I've been researching for my new interest, backpacking! (Special guest: exposure therapy!) [2024]
At least I think that's what it's called...
But yeah, I've been really interested in backpacking (both urban and wilderness) this past month especially. I usually like to keep things I'm learning to myself, because I feel like I need to be perfect in order to be accepted into a group. I know that's wrong, and I'm trying to unlearn it by talking my heart out on this site!
NutritionNutrition is really important in any situation, but especially ones where you are going to be participating in strenuous activity. I've been looking at two things, mainly: Nutrition and shelf life. Some things that I've found important nutrition-wise are salt (lost in sweat), sugar (needed for energy), hydration (duh) protein (good over all), and fiber/grain (keeps me full and not feeling sick). I've kind of learned what my body needs based on how I feel. For shelf-life, I found a lot of dry items, like oats, farina, fruit, and jerky last for a while. Tea and coffee lasts for a while, and Honey should last forever unaltered, if you're looking for a pick-me-up in the cold, or just the morning. Another basic that lasts forever if pure is water. Water's always good to have, take more than you think you need. Some good easy things to take are trail mixes (these things are my favorite. I buy them from Costco, but you can probably find them somewhere else.), and granola bars. If you have hot water, grains like those mentioned above are really filling, and have endless abilities for add-ins. If you're sweating a lot and struggling to regain electrolytes, I've heard you can down salt packets, or sports drinks like Gatorade can hydrate and replenish electrolytes at the same time. ![]() oh yeah... this is it... Tiny EDC (Everyday Carry) packsThis is mainly just fun lol. I use these in my everyday life, but I know I'd need something a bit bigger for actual wilderness situations. I've got some more survival oriented ones like my first-aid kit (I'll take some pics and show you with my pack tour post. Sorry for the wait on that, It's been a busy week!), and some fun ones, like my games tin, which has cards, chess, checkers, and tic-tac-toe. That one I can also show. These little kits are a hit whenever I take them out!![]() What's inside? Who knows! Obsessing over mapsInstead of social media, I've started scrolling Google Maps. (If there's a better alternative map application, I'd love to check it out. I'm trying to stop using so many Google products, the company skeeves me out) But yeah. I've been looking for hiking spots, and for more urban hikes, I've started marking bathrooms, supply stops, and places to rest. For a lot of my hikes, I start from my house and go on foot/by bike, so finding ways to get out of the MAZE that is suburbia without a car has been interesting...Like seriously, how're kids supposed to get anywhere? This place DEFINITELY branches off a minor highway... Learning knotsHaven't made much headway here, but I've started... If you've got any good ones, let me know!![]() I think about this image often. It's so jarring in all the right ways Old hobo/bushcraft tipsI've been obsessed with the Youtube channel Waypoint Survival. I know the tips on here aren't top of the line, but I find it entertaining and I take inspiration from it, with a modern spin of course. I've learned of some often missed parts of a long-term kit, such as hygiene products like soap and combs.***Also, with these meager preparations, I'm definitely not going to be going on month-long expeditions, especially alone. These are mainly for just day-long trips where I'm close to society. So if you came here for advice for that, go somewhere else. Ask someone who knows what they're doing. Do NOT take my word as gospel. Or you can... your funeral.
